Wireless control of your serial devices from a remote desktop, laptop or tablet computer is now a simple connection with the WSL-2E Wireless Serial Link. Using any standard 802.11b WiLAN PCMCIA or PCI card and the one rack space Serial Link transceiver, the WSL-2E supports both RS-232 (via a male DB9 connector) and RS-485 (through a male 3 pin XLR) at baud rates up to 230kbps, while a rear panel switch selects the protocol required. The WSL-2E is pre-configured for "plug and play" ease, or can be custom configured using the included WiNET^® Manager software.

The PRAM WSL-2E is designed to maximize the functionality of computer controlled speaker management devices, digital processing equipment, video control systems or any other serial controlled device. The WSL-2E allows the system operator to freely roam about and access the complete range of software functions of the chosen manufacturer’s control system using a laptop or tablet computer via a wireless connection. The WSL-2E is system independent and compatible with virtually any off-the-shelf serial control hardware/software combination currently available from most professional audio and video manufacturers.

Requiring only power, data and antenna connections, the WSL-2E installs quickly and easily. It is compatible with any 802.11b WiFi compliant PCMCIA or PCI card for your computer. Simply install the WSL-2E management software and drivers. Advanced settings allow for point to multi-point applications and multiple co-located systems. Optional directional and omni-directional gain antennas, antenna mounts and low loss coax for the WSL-2E allow for extreme versatility in placement and operational range. The WSL-2E Serial Link can be ordered alone or as a system, with an enhanced or high performance PCMCIA card. PCMCIA cards and their antennas are also available separately.
